SESSION 3 · CHAT LIKE A PRO

Learn the four dials that actually change an answer — audience, length, format, done — settle it with a duel where you both predict the winner before either prompt is run, then repair the losing prompt and find out tonight whether one swapped sentence was enough.

The big idea

A spec beats a persona. Telling Claude what the finished thing must look like changes the thing; telling it who to pretend to be mostly changes the vocabulary.

And what you keep

Save both duel prompts, the winning toast, and the two face-down predictions exactly as you wrote them, into the Memory Box project. Title it 'Session 3 — the duel', and put the repaired prompt and its toast on the same page so the before and the after sit next to each other. The project wants the losing prompt too; it gets funnier the further away it is.

Mechanic: **prompt duel**. The step-by-step — who says what, in what order — comes with the full camp.

What you will both know afterwards

-   A spec beats a persona — describe the output, not the costume.
-   Four dials: audience, length, format, and what done means.
-   'Answer in three sentences' works; 'don't be verbose' mostly doesn't.
-   Negatives put the thing you banned onto the whiteboard.
-   One pasted example beats three paragraphs of description.
-   Swap one sentence, run it again, and you learn what that sentence was worth.
